Bulk Conveyor Equipment

Screw Conveyors

Screw Conveyors are applicable for a wide variety of materials in both horizontal and inclined applications. We offer a full selection of CEMA standard sizes from 6" to 24" in diameter. We also fabricate non-CEMA sizes. We can fabricate in carbon steel, stainless steel (304, 304-L, 309, 310, 316, 316-L, and 317-L), abrasion resistant (A-R) steel, corten, T-1, inconel, monel, and other materials.

Screw Feeders are designed to be flood loaded. They are typically installed under a hopper or some other form of static storage and are used to regulate the amount of material that is withdrawn from the hopper or "fed". We offer single screw, twin screw, live bottom and inclined screw feeders in sizes from 2" diameter and up, and in the same materials as screw conveyors.

Replacement screws and flights are available in helicoid style from 4" through 18" diameter, or sectional style from 3" to over 100" diameter. Sectional screws can be furnished in just about any material and up to 1" thick (depending on size and material to be used). Sectional screws may be mounted on any size pipe, whereas, helicoid style screws are generally limited to CEMA standard pipe sizes.

Screw Quick Fix is our patented emergency repair device for screw conveyors. It permits permanent, full-strength field repair of most catastrophic screw failures. In most cases, the repair can be completed in less than two hours.

Air Swept® Hangers are another patented solution from Goodman-Hewitt. Designed for the glass industry, this hanger is uniquely and ideally suited to extremely abrasive environments where conventional hanger bearings fail. A low pressure, low volume flow of air keeps contaminants away from the bearing. Our 216-D® hangers feature a unique, patented design that reduces bearing replacement time by at least 50%, as compared to conventional style 226 or 216 hangers. It is a BOLT-IN interchange and the "Spread Leg" design makes it much stronger than standard hangers in "high side loading" applications.

E-Z OUT Couplings allow screw sections to be removed and replaced without disturbing the adjacent screws. It also makes coupling shaft change-out much easier. The shaft can be lifted out (with the cap or key removed) instead of being taken out with a "gas wrench."

Style 30 Hangers are designed to minimize obstruction to material flow. An offset design places support structure on the non-carrying side of the housing, which allows material to be lifted over and around the frame by the natural action of the rotating screw.

Bucket Elevators

Bucket Elevators are available in two general types; "Industrial Duty" and "Mill Duty." Industrial Duty units can be continuous or centrifugal style with either chain or belt mounted buckets. They have 3/16" boots and 10 ga. intermediate casings. Heads are suited for most applications up to 5,000CFH capacity. Special design or construction features allow us to furnish these elevators in high temperature applications up to 1200 degrees F.

NOTE: Generally, bucket elevators are not suited for wet, sticky materials, or materials that are stringy and tend to mat or agglomerate. If you’re not sure your material can be handled in an elevator, give us a call.

Mill Duty elevators are intended for more rigorous service and come in "Cement Mill" style and "Super Capacity" style. The Cement Mill style features heavier components and a traction wheel in the head for severe service that would be common in cement/lime production, glass and other applications. Super Capacity elevators feature dual strands of chain and are capable of delivering increased amounts of material. Our largest standard "Right Out Of The Book" unit will handle almost 15,000CFH (36 X 12 Bucket). Larger sizes are available.

Vertical Screw Elevators

Vertical Screw Elevators offer another lifting option for dry, free flowing bulk materials. They are best suited for intermediate heights (under 50ft.) with materials no more than moderately abrasive. They operate at relatively high speeds, (up to 400RPMs) so the component life is limited on abrasive materials. We can provide standard VSE units for up to 7,000CHF. Call us for special design options if you need more capacity.

Multi-Flo Drag Conveyors

Multi-Flo is a round bottom style drag conveyor that is available with standard duty or heavy duty components. Either style features our exclusive "Drop In" style return track and guide assemblies for easy field assembly, and our "Long Life Flights."  Standard Duty units are ideally suited for a wide variety of dry, free-flowing bulk materials such as feeds, grains, beans, hulls, nuts, seeds and flour. These units feature from 14 to 10 gauge thickness intermediate troughs and UHMW flights.

Heavy Duty units feature 3/16" intermediate troughs and UHMW flights for more abrasive materials such as, wood chips, saw dust, boiler fuel, soy beans, dust and other materials that would be considered moderately abrasive. Our drop-in style return track and guide assembly is unique in the industry and allows the use of CEMA standard U-troughs for intermediate housings. They are fully self-aligning and easy to install. Just place the assembly in the center of the trough (lengthwise), align the mounting straps with the top of the trough flange and bolt it in place to complete. No further adjustments are needed. This Goodman-Hewitt exclusive makes it easy to convert a screw conveyor to a high capacity drag. If you are maxed out on your screw conveyor capacity and it is costing you money, maybe you need to check into converting to drag conveyors.
